New Filling and Packaging Line for Powdery and Granular Products Meets Stringent Hygiene Standards

Bosch Packaging Technology's new line concept for the filling and packaging of powdery and granular products consists of three perfectly coordinated machines: the auger filler FVS, the vertical bagger SVI and the next-generation checkweigher KWI.

The new auger filler allows for the precise filling of products such as milk powder, flour and baking mixtures, icing sugar, soups, ground coffee, tea and spices, as well as for various chemical and pharmaceutical applica­tions. After filling, the intermittently operating vertical bagger SVI produces pillow bags, gusseted bags, stand-up bags or doy-style bags. The ability to handle diverse packaging styles provides manufacturers with a high degree of flexibility to adapt to changing trends and market requirements. The ro­bust and flexible next-generation checkweigher KWI completes this modu­lar packaging line according to Bosch’s Module++ concept.

The auger filler FVS 3201 feeds the product into the agitator either via a direct infeed or a frequency-controlled cross-feeding auger. The agitator ensures consistent product density and homogeneity. Optimal port closure prevents any afterspill of the handled material and avoids contamination in the sealing area of the packaging, ensuring that packages are leakproof and accurate in weight. Seamless interfacing and optimal coordination of all three standard machines are the keys to cost-efficient production and also improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

The central operating unit controls the entire packaging line and all of its components. In case of any filling weight deviations, the integrated check­weigher KWI 5000 provides direct feedback to the filling control unit. The powder line's overall concept is designed to meet stringent food safety standards and facilitates optional certification to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Concept (HACCP).
