STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION GROUP PUTS ITS TRUST IN RO-DOR

The TDG storage and distribution group, which provides public cold storage at its depots which are spread across the UK, has been putting its trust in Ro-Dor, the UK’s leading roller shutter door manufacturer, for many years.
Ro-Dor’s PVCu roller shutter doors are widely used throughout every part of the UK food industry in preparation areas, processing departments and chill rooms. They are chosen for their insulation properties and hygiene qualities.
Nigel Morton, Food Industry Specialist at Ro-Dor, has recently been working with Peter Dawkins, the south east Regional Engineer for TDG, to supply and install seven new doors for the loading bays of two of the company’s cold stores at the Skimpot Road, Luton, Beds, depot.
Ro-Dors are manufactured to exact specifications using double-skinned PVCu lathes which provide good thermal insulation and help to retain ambient temperatures while also being sturdy enough to take the knocks and bangs of busy retail outlets without damage. There are no exposed or greasy moving parts, which is an added hygiene benefit.
Each door installed for TDG measured approximately 2.3m wide by 2.3m high. As an additional safety feature the doors are operated with low voltage push button switches on the interior and exterior. In the event of a power failure the doors have a manual override system.
Peter Dawkins says he is delighted with the efficient service he receives from Ro-Dor which has already installed its roller shutters at two of his other depots based in Thetford and Peterborough.
